For over 40 years, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has tolerated the bullshit spread by people that it’s most popular and successful missions named Apollo was ‘fake’.
In 1980, the Flat Earth Society Organisation theorized that Walt Disney sponsored the shoot and the landing was in Hollywood. They also claimed that Stanley Kubrick was the director and Arthur Clarke was the scriptwriter of this clip.
Tired of listening to all of these theories for decades, NASA finally decided to upload 10,000 photos of the Apollo 11 mission on its Flickr account.
Back in the time when Eisenhower was the president of America, he triggered a space program to compete within USSR in space projects. It was named Apollo and was run by NASA. The main aim behind this was served when Eisenhower’s successor realized the national aim of landing on the moon. From 1969 – 1972 twelve attempts were made to surface on the moon of which six failed.
The fourth mission, Apollo 11 was finally successful on 20th July 1969 when American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Bull Aldrin stepped on moon’s surface. They spent 2.5 hours collecting soil samples, clicking photographs and planting the American flag.
After the success of Apollo 11, another five rockets were propelled towards the moon. This was certainly legit and NASA proved it by honoring the astronauts who risked their lives for science.
